National Garden Week

This week we celebrate gardens, whether we create them ourselves or enjoy the fruits of other’s labors.

Today my garden in grateful for the refreshing drink of rainwater nature supplied overnight. I’m thankful that I get a day off from my watering chores.

Planting

But a gardeners work is never done: watering, weeding and wondering what else might look splendid tucked into the perfect spot with ideal sun and soil.

Gardening

I have three more tomato seedlings and their companion marigolds to install. A gifted redbud tree and a sweet spire shrub linger in the shade waiting for their turn to snuggle into dirt, then it’s off to my favorite local garden shop to purchase more perennials with a Christmas gift certificate that has been patiently waiting on my desk. My family knows what I prefer.

Are you gardening this week?
